Catty man allegedly exposes himself to teen, asks is she 'open minded'

Police said he asked her not tell anyone

CATASAUQUA, Pa. - Authorities in Lehigh County allege a Catasauqua man exposed himself to a teenage girl and then asked her to keep it between them.

Police charged Douglas B. Rettberg with a single misdemeanor count of indecent exposure following the incident late Wednesday night in his Catasauqua home. District Judge Jacob Hammond arraigned the 38-year-old Thursday morning, setting bail at $10,000.

Borough police were dispatched to Rettberg’s home shortly before midnight on Wednesday to investigate an incident involving a minor.

The victim told police that Rettberg asked if she was “open minded” before allegedly pulling down his boxer shorts and exposing himself, according to court records. Police said the teenager was known to Rettberg.

He also allegedly made comments about the girl’s breasts and asked to see them, according to records. The victim told police that Rettberg allegedly asked her not to tell anyone about their exchange.

He failed to post bail and was sent to Lehigh County Jail to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 29.
