Caught on camera: Bobcat escapes at Lehigh Valley Zoo

VIDEO Caught on camera: Bobcat...

NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - A bobcat escaped its enclosure at the Lehigh Valley Zoo Saturday, and it was all caught on camera.

69 News obtained footage from a zoo visitor who captured the moment 18-year-old Shishka squeezed through an opening in the top of her cage.

About 2,000 Lehigh Valley Zoo guests were told to get into the closest building.

Officials say zoo workers got to the bobcat quickly about 25 to 50 feet from the exhibit. Officials say it took workers about an hour to calm down the animal and get her netted.

Zoo officials say they followed protocol and as a result no one or the animal was hurt.

The zoo's president says at no time were people in danger.
