Cedarbrook resident celebrates 106th birthday

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Michalena Fiorello, a resident at Cedarbrook Allentown Nurisng Home, celebrated her 106th birthday Feb. 26.

Born in 1912, she lived an active life. She owned her own resort called The Plateau in the Poconos where she cooked in her restaurant. She also worked at Hess Brothers for many years as a buyer until the store closed.

“Being here today at Cedarbrook to celebrate my Aunt Lena’s 106th birthday is a wonderfully surreal and heartwarming experience which I will never forget. I remember the many family members she nurtured, and positively influenced.  My father was one such person. She is my role model and is so loved by our family," said Fiorello's niece Joan Elmayan.

Fiorello celebrated her birthday with Elmayan and her husband, Arpiar Elmayan, along with her friends at Cedarbrook. Fiorello's 97-year-old brother resides in New York with his wife.
