Charges held for trial in case against woman accused of punching teenage girl

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The case involving an Allentown woman accused of punching the teenage daughter of an Allentown City Councilwoman in the face is proceeding.

During Tuesday's preliminary hearing, Lourdes Gonzalez's arraignment date was set for August 20 at the Lehigh County Courthouse.

Gonzalez is facing several charges, including corruption of minors and simple assault. According to Magisterial District Judge David Howells' office, all charges will be held for court.

A video showing part of the fight, released in April by the defendant's attorney, does not show who threw the first punch, or whether Gonzalez struck the councilwoman's daughter.
