Charter school donates money for cancer research

Pennies for Patients

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Some Lehigh Valley students have been busy counting their pennies for a good cause.

More than 500 students at the Lehigh Valley Dual Language Charter School at 551 Thomas Street in Bethlehem took part in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Pennies for Patients" program.

The students were encouraged to collect spare change, then added it all up, and on Thursday they presented a big check to the society.

The check,  for more than $1300 will used for cancer research and to help the families of patients.
