BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A Bethlehem man has struck out after police said he stole from a little league organization to support a drug habit.
32-year-old Christopher Robert Dollak was arrested for stealing about $36,000 from the North Central Little League, according to court documents. Police said Dollak's wife managed finances for the league and would often bring home money to deposit later. They said Dollak took money from the league's deposit bags from 2012 to last month.
There was no answer at Dollack's Bethlehem house Wednesday.
"I think that's horrible," said Crystal Figueroa, a neighbor. "It's selfishness because instead of him thinking about the kids and their future and their
activities he took it upon to give himself what he wanted."
Investigators said Dollak was able to return money to the deposit bags early on, but as his drug habit grew he wasn't able to return the cash.
"People work hard for that money for their children and somebody just comes along and takes it just because, I would be mad," said Figueroa.
Dollak is out on bail. He has a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 17.
