Coca-Cola Park will have first urinal gaming system in North America

IronPigs stadium to feature urinal gaming system

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are hoping a new attraction at the ballpark creates a real "splash" -- literally.  It's a video game in the men's bathrooms, and it's the first of its kind in the entire nation.

"This is the pee-controlled urinal gaming system," said Kurt Landes, IronPigs general manager. "As I like to refer to them, the 'X-Stream Games.'"

Playing is easy. You just walk up to the urinal, do your business, and aim.

"It's truly hands-free. There's no pushing buttons on the screen," said Landes.

Your stream controls the game.

"You're a ski-mobiler and you're going down the mountainside and you're aiming for penguins," he said.

Landes got the idea from a water gun game at Dorney Park several years ago.  He eventually found a British company that makes the games, which are hugely popular in the U.K.

"At this point, there are no other sports venues or no other venues period [in the U.S.] that have a urinal gaming system," said Landes.

And before you think this is all fun and games, there is an educational aspect to all this. Lehigh Valley Health Network will display ads on the screen, reminding men to check their prostates.

"This is a great way to reach your target audience -- no pun intended," said Landes.

Landes said the game is already a home run.

"Twitter has blown up, Facebook 'shares' and 'likes' are amazing," Landes said.

Unfortunately for the fairer sex, there is no game for them.

"I think the women are jealous," said Landes.

"Streaming video" comes to a stall near you next week when the IronPigs open their home season.
