Community 'fills the bus' for TSA workers at LVIA

Donations help local workers affected by shutdown

HANOVER TWP., Pa. - TSA workers have already missed one paycheck thanks to the partial government shutdown and they're now on the verge of missing another.

That has prompted people in the Lehigh Valley to show their support of federal workers at LVIA by donating all kind of items.

The Lehigh Valley International Airport and the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority are holding a two-day donation drive.

It runs Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. People can bring non-perishable food and drinks, paper products toiletries, baby products and other items to donate. Cash, gift cards and clothing will NOT be accepted.

The bus was completely full after only three hours on the first day Wednesday. Airport workers were emptying the bus to make room for more donations.
