Construction worker ambushed, beaten until unconscious

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. - A construction worker was ambushed at a work site in Northampton County.

Washington Township police say it happened Monday at a new home under construction on Franklin Hill Road.

Police say the worker heard someone in an upstairs bedroom. He thought it was another contractor, but when he opened the door he was beaten until he lost consciousness.

The suspect did not remove any items from the construction site nor did he rob the victim of anything.

He is described as a white male wearing a dark-colored baseball hat, a camouflage hunting jacket, and dark jeans.

Police say construction at the property will continue and investigators are following up on leads that are still coming in.
