Convicted sex offender charged with rape, child endangerment

43-year-old already serving up to 50 years in jail

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A 43-year-old man already serving decades in state prison for sexually teenagers is facing more charges after allegedly giving a teenage boy alcohol and raping him.

Investigators with the Bethlehem Police Department this week filed rape, indecent assault and child endangerment charges against Michael Davis in connection to an alleged 2007 attack. Davis is currently serving a 20- to 50-year state prison term in Centre County.

He is awaiting arraignment on the new charges.

In August, the victim reported to Bethlehem police that he was sexually assaulted by Davis in June 2004 inside a Geissenger Street home, according to court records. The victim told police that he was 14 years old when Davis allegedly gave him a shot of Southern Comfort "that was bubbling" and a beer, according to court records.

The victim told investigators that he remembers falling down and Davis carrying him to a bedroom, where he allegedly assaulted him throughout the night. When the victim woke up, Davis allegedly the boy whether he was angry and if he remembered anything from the night before.

Court records indicate that the detective investigating the current case arrested Davis in September 2010 for sexually assaulting teenage boys.

Police charged Davis with felony counts of rape of a substantially impaired person, child endangerment and two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. He also faces misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors.

In 2010, police charged Davis with 131 counts that included child endangerment, corruption of minors, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, rape, aggravated indecent assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with an impaired person.

He pleaded guilty to a handful of charges and was sentenced to up to 50 years in state prison. Davis faces lifetime registration under Megan's Law.
