Coroner identifies couple in murder-suicide

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - A man and woman are dead after what sources are calling a murder-suicide.

The Lehigh County coroner identified the victims late Wednesday night as 35-year-old Kelsy Thomson and 41-year-old Brian Thomson.

"I think we have a wonderful neighborhood here, we're here 43 years," said neighbor, Carolynn Fortley.

Those there considered it a safe and quiet neighborhood until police rushed to the 1900 block of Belleview Drive, in Whitehall Towship around 2:30PM on Wednesday.

"With an incident like this I think everybody is in total shock," said Fortley.

Police found the Thomsons, dead inside there. From the outside, onlookers say the couple seemed happy and were loving parents. Police have not released information on the two daughters.

"Great… I mean really great… I thought they were a loving couple… they have two beautiful children," said neighbor Dominic Cerali.

Some friends had been over recently for one of the kids's birthday parties but coming home to the sight of bright yellow crime scene tape on Wednesday told them the tragic news.

Police have not released the manner in which the couple died. Despite the deaths, police say there's no threat to others.

"No other danger to the neighborhood. No other danger to any of the surrounding community," said Whitehall Police Chief Michael Marks. We believe the situation was contained in the house,".

The investigation is ongoing. An autopsy will be conducted on the couple Thursday.
