I-78 reopens after 2-vehicle crash in Northampton County

Occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A person had to be cut out of their vehicle after a terrible crash on Interstate 78 westbound Wednesday night.

Authorities say the crash occurred at Exit 64 on I-78 westbound around 10 p.m.

A 69 News crew on scene says one person had to be extricated from a mangled car in the center median.

A tractor-trailer possibly involved in the accident was also pulled off to the side of the road.

All lanes of I-78 westbound and one lane of I-78 eastbound were closed for a short time between the Hellertown/Bethlehem exit and North - South 4th Street exit. The road reopened and the scene was cleared around 11:30 p.m.

Police have not yet said what caused the crash or the extent of the injuries.
