Crash slows traffic on Interstate 78 in Lehigh County

Reportedly involves jackknifed tractor trailer

SALISBURY TWP., Pa. - An accident that reportedly involves a jackknifed tractor trailer is creating quite the backup of traffic on Interstate 78 in Lehigh County.

The crash was reported shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on I-78 between the Lehigh Street (Exit 57) interchange in Allentown and the Summit Lawn (Exit 59) interchange in Salisbury Township.

Images from the scene show one eastbound lane of travel squeezing by the accident on the shoulder; westbound traffic is also slow.

Police have not yet released any information about the accident.
