Crews rescue 3 cats, 1 dog from Allentown basement fire

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Crews rescued three cats and a dog after a dryer caught fire in an Allentown basement. 

The fire broke out at around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of North Sixth Street.

Fire crews managed to get the fire out quickly, but smoke did fill the building.

A smoke detector alerted the occupants of the home to evacuate safely.

No one was injured or displaced by the fire.
