DA: Criminal homicide charges filed in death of Parris Lane

VIDEO: District Attorney announces...

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Charges have been filed in the homicide that occurred at Allentown's Hamilton Tower last Wednesday.

Joshwynn Garcia, 21, of Hamilton Street is charged with criminal homicide and firearms not to be carried without a license, Lehigh County DA Jim Martin announced in a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

Garcia is being held in Lehigh County Jail on a parole violation and on other new charges, which occurred while he was behind bars. One of those additional charges include aggravated harassment by a prisoner.

Garcia was arraigned on homicide charges Tuesday with no bail, Martin said.

On Nov. 8, officers responders to the report of a male covered in blood inside of a vehicle at Hamilton Tower. Officials found the body of 19-year-old Parris Lane of Allentown seated in a green Infinity.

Lane was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lehigh County Coroner ruled his manner of death a homicide and the cause of death multiple gunshot wounds.

Martin said Lane was an unconfirmed member of the Bloods gang and formally a member of the Crips. Martin said Lane was also a local member of OMB, which stands for "Only My Brothers".

Detectives interviewed witnesses, one in which stated that he or she is the owner of the Infinity and gave the car to Garcia to use.

Another witness described being in the vehicle at the time of shooting and said he or she fled the vehicle after the shooting, according to Martin.

Martin said it's alleged Garcia shot and killed Lane.

"We don't know what went on prior to the killing," Martin said. "All I know is the two were allegedly in the vehicle at the time of shooting."

District Attorney Martin praised police for their 'excellent work' in this case.
