Music venue loses lawsuit over copyright issue

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A popular music venue in Allentown is paying up over a copyright lawsuit.

A judge has ordered Crocodile Rock to pay more than $100,000 to Broadcast Music Inc. over copyright infringement.

BMI filed the lawsuit in 2012, claiming Crocodile Rock allowed five unauthorized public performances of musical compositions from its repertoire.

Crocodile Rock owner Joe Clark said he thought the promoter of the show took care of the fees, and he was unaware of the issues until he received a bill.
