Cross Country run supporting Boston comes through LV

EASTON, Pa. - It's a coast-to-coast relay raising money for those injured in the Boston Marathon bombing. The group of runners on a mission passed through Easton Friday night.

It's a nationwide relay. Thousands of runners across America are participating in "One Run For Boston."

"We're leg number 283," explained Marc Kolpon. "There's a total of 319 legs."

On this 9 mile stretch from to Easton into New Jersey, there are four runners. Each pounding the pavement for their own reasons.

"It's a great way to go ahead and give back to the city of Boston, those affected by the horrible tragedy," shared Kolpon.

"Just knowing that I can do it, and there's so many people that that privilege has been taken away from," added Mary Louise Rowlin. "So I'm doing it for them."

More than $71,000 dollars has been raised by the effort, with every cent going to those most affected by the Boston marathon bombings.

"It's an awesome, awesome experience," smiled Kolpon.

For three weeks the folks taking part in 'One Run For Boston' have been running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The non-stop relay is passing through 14 different states.

"It's heartwarming to know all these runners can come together and do something so nice," said Rowlin. "It's small, but I'm sure every little bit helps."

The relay started in Los Angeles on June 7th and won't stop until the runners cross the finish line in bean town this Sunday. You can track the progress of the relay through a live map and also make donations to the fun by CLICKING HERE.
