Daughters get special gift to remember dad killed in Afghanistan

LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. - Nearly three years after Staff Sgt. Peter Taub was killed in Afghanistan, his daughters were presented with a special gift to remember him at their home in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County on Tuesday.

Hero's Rock delivered Taub's two young girls hand-made rocking horses designed in his memory.

Scott Snyder founded Hero's Rock in 2011 and said he has made dozens of rocking horses for the children of fallen service members.

"We work with the family and try to incorporate things that are important to them so when that child grows up, they'll know what their hero was all about," Snyder said.

Christina Taub said the rockers are a special gift her daughters will treasure for many years.

"This is like an honor for them to do something like this," Taub said.
