Easton man jailed on 196 counts in child rape case

34-year-old Michael Sebring was arrested Saturday

EASTON, Pa. - Officials have released more information about an Easton man who was arrested Saturday on child rape charges.

Michael Sebring is accused of repeatedly raping a child.

Sebring, 34, of the 1200 block of Washington Street, initially raped the juvenile girl in October 2008 when she was 5-years-old, then at least 14 times between August and December 2013, when she was 10, according to court documents.

The girl told officials the rapes occurred twice a week.

Sebring faces 196 charges, including rape, rape of a child, statutory rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and related charges. He was committed to the Northampton County Prison on $500,000 bail.
