Easton Middle School intruder had 'possible mental health issues'

EASTON, Pa. - Administrators are investigating how a 26-year-old woman managed to enter Easton Area Middle School undetected.

The woman was found on Friday morning eating breakfast in the cafeteria.

The district tells 69 News the woman -- who hasn't been identified but may have mental health issues -- rode a school bus to the middle school and got off with the other students.

They say a staff member later spotted her and called security.

The district says the woman told them she thought she was 13-years-old.

"Appearance wise, she very much would have been able to pass for a teenager,” said John Remaley, Supervisor of Safe Schools.

The district said it is reviewing security camera footage, policies and procedures. It also said it will meet with the District Attorney's office to determine what, if any, charges will be filed.
