Police investigate sexual assault at Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. - Police in Easton are on the lookout for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a female Lafayette College student.

The school sent out a mass email to students putting them on alert.

Lafayette College student Samantha Gleich is changing the way she travels across campus.

She's making sure friends are close by.

"Especially at night," added Gleich. "It's important to make sure you're around people you know you can trust."

Many students are walking together after a mass email went out about a sexual assault on the Easton campus early Sunday morning.

"Actually I saw a text message from my mom before I read the email.  It said 'oh my God are you okay? Are you still alive? Is your roommate okay'," said Gleich.

Lafayette campus security confirms the alleged assault took place at an outdoor location on campus.

In an email to 69 News, the college describes the attacker as a male, with blond hair, who is more than six feet tall.

"We haven't got much information about it," added Gleich.

Students walking around say that is enough information to be concerned.

Easton police are patrolling the area more off campus and Lafayette campus security has beefed up patrols on campus.

Many students wouldn't go on camera but the mood has changed.

"I think people are more conscious of it."

And some say they will remain that way until an arrest is made.
