Easton police investigate attempted purse snatching

EASTON, Pa. - Easton police report they are investigating an attempted purse snatching that happened Wednesday night.

A 37-year-old city resident reported that she was approached by three boys in the area of Fifth and Northampton streets shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday.

She told police that one of the juveniles initially asked her for money. One of the other boys then allegedly tried to grab her purse.

She told police that all three then ran away.

The first boy, who asked the woman for money, is described as 15 to 17 years old, standing about 5-foot-5 and weighing about 135 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket over a dark-colored hooded jacket or sweatshirt.

The other two juveniles were described only as wearing dark-colored clothing.
