Easton police investigate shooting

EASTON, Pa. - Easton police are searching for an 18-year-old man and another person in connection with a shooting late Saturday night.

Police said an officer was flagged down by the 27-year-old shooting victim around 11:30 p.m. at 14th and Lehigh streets.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the neck in the area of Warren and Elm streets. Police said the victim was being treated at a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Police have identified 18-year-old Jared Alvin Jr. as a suspect. He is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, robbery, recklessly endangering another person and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

Alvin is a suspected gang member and is believed to be armed and dangerous, police said.

Police are still searching for a second man. He is described as a tall, thin black man between the ages of 20 and 23 with short hair. He was last seen wearing a dark puffy coat, blue jeans and a backwards hat.
