Easton unveils commemorative holiday ornament

EASTON, Pa. - As the holiday season quickly approaches, people are starting to make their lists and check them twice.

And the city of Easton is trying to jump in on the shopping frenzy by unveiling a new Christmas ornament.

The latest decoration, the fourth in a series of keepsake ornaments that depict historical scenes and places around Downtown Easton, showcases the bustling scene at the Easton Farmer’s Market.

"Each ornament captures a scene or part of Easton that makes our city unique. This year, we’re highlighting the country’s longest-running outdoor famer’s market,” Manager of Easton Main Street Initiative, Kim Kmetz said.

The ornament will go on sale at Garlic Fest, October 7-8 and will also be available for purchase at eastonmainstreet.org

Farmers’ previous ornaments have included the Peace Candle, the Easton Bugler and the Free Bridge.

For the first time, the ornaments will be available as a commemorative package set, or as stand-alone pieces. Ornaments cost $20 each, or $75 for the set.

Sales benefit the Easton Main Street Initiative, a nonprofit organization that’s part of the Greater Easton Development Partnership.
