Easton woman arrested for attacking son, husband

Martha Montesinos allegedly chased spouse with meat tenderizer

EASTON, Pa. - A 49-year-old Easton woman was arrested for smacking her 11-year-old son in the face several times, causing his nose to bleed.

When her husband attempted to intervene, she began smacking and punching him as well, and chased him through the house with a meat tenderizer, according to Easton police.

The complaint against Martha Montesinos of the 200 block of Vista Drive was made Friday night at Easton police headquarters by her husband, Rafael Montesinos.

Rafael Montesinos told police he went directly to the police station with his son after the attack, in which both males also were kicked.

The incident, witnessed by another family member, occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Friday.

Martha Montesinos was charged with simple assault and harassment by physical contact.

As a condition of her bail, which was set at $7,500, the defendant has been evicted from her home and allowed no contact with the victims.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 27  before Magisterial District Judge Daniel G. Corpora in Easton.
