Elderly woman dies weeks after crash in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An elderly woman severely injured in a crash earlier this month has died, according to the coroner's office.

Shirley Lendl, 80, of Whitehall, was the passenger in a car involved in a crash along Hamilton Boulevard in Allentown on June 6, officials said.

She died Friday from complications of injuries from the accident, the coroner's office said. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say a man and a woman in their 80s were traveling eastbound in the 2900 block of Hamilton Boulevard. Police say the man decided to make a left into the Atrium building, without yielding, which caused a westbound car to collide with the passenger side of the vehicle.

Police say the man suffered minor injuries.

The 41-year-old driver of the other car was not harmed.
