Emergency declared after half an inch of snow

HANOVER TWP., Pa. - Winter officially begins in a month but Lehigh Valley International Airport is preparing now.

On Tuesday the airport showed off its snow-fighting gear.

LVIA goes into "emergency snow removal" mode after more than half an inch of snow falls.

Ice and slick spots are a big concern on the runways. The ultimate goal, the airport says, is to get all passengers to their destinations safely.
