Ex-Lehigh football player sent to jail

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A former Lehigh University football player will be spending time behind bars for kicking another student in the face during a brawl outside a Bethlehem bar.

Russhon Phillips was sentenced to one to two months in Northampton County Prison Friday.

The fight broke out at Leon's Bar on East Fifth Street in September.

Police say the victim, Paul Graham, was unconscious on the ground when Phillips kicked him in the face, breaking his jaw.

Phillips was convicted of simple assault and public drunkenness.

He played defensive back for the Mountain Hawks.
