Fight continues over luxury Airbnb in Bethlehem

VIDEO Fight continues over Bethlehem...

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - An Airbnb in Bethlehem is stirring up controversy.

Jay Brew and his wife, Dr. Mary Ellen Williams, opened an Airbnb on East Market Street in Bethlehem a few weeks ago, but the couple got a cease and desist letter from the city Monday.

The city said there are zoning issues because the couple is operating a commercial business in a residential neighborhood.

The city also said there have been complaints from neighbors, but the ones 69 News spoke to at an open house held at the former Airbnb Tuesday said they have no problems.

Jay and his wife said they followed all of the rules. They said they are not backing down, and will go to the zoning board to argue their case.

The city said the couple can appeal the zoning officer's decision.
