Fire damages several homes, structures in Wilson

WILSON BOROUGH, Pa. - Two homes were destroyed in Northampton County after a fire broke out Sunday morning.

Flames and smoke could be seen coming from several structures in the 1500 block of Washington Street in the borough of Wilson.

One of the houses burned down to the ground and the other appeared to be a total loss as flames were seen shooting through the roof.

Nearby structures also sustained some damage.

Northampton County emergency dispatch officials said no injuries were reported, but crews on scene reported one person suffered burns to the hands.

A Facebook post says one of the homes that was severely damaged was owned by the man who was supposed to act as Santa and deliver toys through the borough Sunday.

The toy delivery event scheduled was canceled.

The borough's Block Watch page they are working to collect donations for Charlie and Marlowe Wacik, and a GoFundMe has been set up for the couple.

The fire was reported around 6:30 a.m., but no word yet on what sparked the blaze. As of Monday, the fire is still under investigation.
