Fire breaks out at vacant home in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A vacant home was damaged after a fire broke out Christmas morning.

Allentown fire officials said it started around 7:30 a.m. at a unit in the 800 block of West Tioga Street.

The fire was contained to that home, which sustained minor smoke and water damage mostly in the attic.

Firefighters had the fire under control about a half hour later.

Authorities said one firefighter suffered a minor injury.

Officials said the fire does not appear suspicious but the cause is still under investigation.
