LEHIGH TWP., Pa. - Firefighters in Northampton County responded to a fire Friday morning that destroyed a garage.

The fire broke out sometime after 9 a.m. Friday at a property in the 1400 block of North Cottonwood Road. When firefighters arrived, fire engulfed the two-story detached garage, according to Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Richard Hildebrand.

It took almost 30 minutes for Lehigh Township, Walnutport, Allen Township and Northampton fire companies to get the fire under control. The building is a complete loss, and the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined, Hildebrand said.

Several vehicles near the garage also caught on fire.

Hildebrand said no one sustained any injuries, but that a cow in a nearby field had to be redirected for its safety.
