Fire in Whitehall auto center appears to be arson

It happened Sunday night at A-Team Auto Center

Fire at Whitehall auto store may be burglary cover-up

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - The Sunday night fire in a Whitehall auto shop appears to have been set deliberately to cover up a burglary, according to the township's fire chief.

The fire was reported at 10:45 p.m. Sunday in A-Team Auto Center, MacArthur and Mickley roads.

Firefighters reported part of the building was burning when they arrived Sunday night. They were able to get the fire under control quickly, and no one was injured. They remained on the scene until about 2:45 a.m.

On Monday afternoon, Fire Chief Bob Benner reported police and fire investigators still are on the scene, looking into the arson, but have no suspects yet.
