Floods cause Upper Saucon bridge closure

PennDOT says it's closed until further notice

UPPER SAUCON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - An Upper Saucon Township bridge has been closed due to structural damage attributed to Tuesday night’s heavy rains according to PennDOT.

The Mill Road / Blue Church Road bridge between Domarray Street and Gun Club Road spans a tributary to Saucon Creek.

PennDOT says water has undermined one of its abutments and will have to be closed indefinitely.

This section of Mill Road has an average daily traffic volume of 3,615 vehicles, according to PennDOT.

The 10 feet long, 23 feet wide, concrete slab bridge was built in 1934.
