Forks officer starts GoFundMe for business owner facing lawsuit over 'PSP Strong'

FORKS TWP., Pa. - A local police officer is raising money to support a business owner facing a lawsuit for his fundraising efforts.

Cpl. Shawn Hummer from the Forks Township Police Department created a GoFundMe page to help cover legal costs for Nolan Kemmerer.

Kemmerer is facing a $50,000 lawsuit by a Luzerne County non-profit for using its PSP Strong logo without permission.

Kemmerer stopped making the signs, but PSP Strong asked for more - they wanted him to sign something saying he wouldn't use that phrase again.

That's where Nolan drew the line. He said his word should be enough.

Hummer says the money will be used to help Kemmerer, and anything above and beyond will be donated to Homeland Security's Stop the Bleed campaign.
