Former high school wrestler charged with aggravated assault

EASTON, Pa. - Some may remember Easton's Josh Oliver for being a standout high school wrestler. Law enforcement may remember his ties to a 2007 Easton triple murder.

Oliver is back in the news but again for the wrong reason.

He's charged with a litany of crimes including assaulting an officer, and person not to posses a firearm.

Police arrested Easton's Josh Oliver after police say he and nine other men jumped an Easton woman and her brother as they parked at Spanky's East Gentleman's Club in Wilson Borough early Saturday morning.

The melee resulted in that man and woman being taken to the hospital with knife wounds to the face and head.

Police say Oliver took off and tripped while running across 300 South 17th Street. That's where police say he pulled out a gun, before police used a Taser on him.

However, the chaos didn't end there.

"His friend came and approached the scene. He struck the officer, at which time he was also taken into custody," Wilson Borough Detective Jason Hillis added.

Police say that man is Terrence Roderick Jr, a friend of Oliver's who came back to the scene, during processing.

As for Oliver, he has a history of breaking the law.

A 2007 burglary banned him from carrying a fireman. Also in 2007 he opened the door to an apartment in Easton's West Ward to let in the men who would kill three people inside.

In 2012 he pleaded guilty to manufacturing and selling cocaine. Police say he recently got out of jail for that crime before being arrested Saturday.

At this point police don't know why the man and woman were jumped. Police are still investigating a motive for the attack.
