Former New Jersey State Police major sworn in as Northampton County sheriff

Northampton County sheriff sworn in

EASTON, Pa. - There's a new sheriff in town in Northampton County.

David Dalrymple was sworn in during a ceremony Monday morning.

Dalrymple is a retired major with the New Jersey State Police, and in 2007 he was named trooper of the year.

He replaces former sheriff Randall Miller, who was fired by Northampton County Executive John Brown earlier this year.
