Fundraiser helps stricken firefighter

PLAINFIELD TWP., Pa. - Just months after suffering a brain aneurysm, a volunteer firefighter showed up at a spaghetti dinner fundraiser held in his honor Sunday in Northampton County.

Thirty-nine-year old Rob Kramer is out of the hospital and just happy to be up and walking around.

He tells us he's in physical therapy and expects to be out of work for at least the next few months.

He says he's surprised by all the support.

"When you think that you're all on your own- you're obviously not. I always thought that if anything happened to me, I'd be on my own until I woke up from my coma and found out that all my friends had set up vigils and fundraisers, etc. I thought that it was just going to be on me and that's a problem.," Kramer said.

he says his medical bills tally almost a million dollars.
Rob says he doesn't remember much about what happened to him in January.

He's missing a few months in his memory and at first he thought he had been in a car accident.

He feels emotionally strong though and expects to be able to go back to work at some point.
