Girl takes 10 shots of vodka in two hours; couple later arrested

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown couple has been arrested after allegedly getting a 13-year-old girl so drunk she had to be flown to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center due to her high blood alcohol level.

Charles Younger, 38, and Michelle Edwards, 32, both of Allentown, are accused of providing alcohol to a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old girl the night of January 7, 2017.

Around 10:30 p.m. that night authorities say Allentown police and EMS were called to the 1900 block of Union Blvd., the home of Younger and Edwards, in reference to an unconscious 13-year-old.

Authorities say Younger and Edwards had left the home when EMS was called.

When EMS got the 13-year-old girl to Sacred Heart Hospital and learned she had consumed alcohol they airlifted her to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for treatment due to her high blood blood alcohol content level.

The girl’s BAC was .32, four times the legal limit for an adult.

According to authorities, a 15-year-old girl at the home says she watched the younger girl drink 10 shots of vodka within two hours' time.

The 15-year-old says Younger supplied the two with alcohol.

Authorities then say Edwards was awakened during the night after the 13-year-old began vomiting and Edwards did not call EMS.

Younger is charged with one felony count of endangering the welfare of children, two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors, and two misdemeanor counts of furnishing liquor to minors.

Edwards is charged with endangering the welfare of children.
