GOP selects Marty Nothstein as candidate for election to replace Dent

Pennsylvania's Republican Party has announced the candidate it has nominated to run in the special election for the state's 15th congressional district.

Businessman Marty Nothstein was selected for the special election to fill retired Congressman Charlie Dent's seat for the remainder of his term.

The special election will be held on the same day as the general election, which will pick who will represent the newly-created 7th Congressional District.

That means the winner of the special election will be in office for two months before the successor takes over for a full two-year term in Congress.

Nothstein is facing Democrat Susan Wild in both contests.
