Gregory to run write-in campaign for Bethlehem Mayor

Gregory to run write-in campaign

If you want to vote for one mayoral candidate in Bethlehem you'll have to write his name on the ballot.

On Thursday, former Bethlehem City Council President Jim Gregory announced his intentions to run for mayor of Bethlehem on the independent ticket.

However,  Northampton County officials are saying that its too late to start running as an independent and that if he want to run for Mayor he will have to do so as a write-in candidate.

Gregory tells us that he does plan to start a campaign as a write-in candidate very soon.

He says he will be retiring from his job for Northampton County sometime next week.

Last month, voters selected Bob Donchez as the Democratic candidate for the position.

He was running unopposed until Gregory announced his plans.

Gregory also ran for mayor back in 2003, but was defeated by John Callahan.
