Group suing Lehigh County Elections Board

Allentown Residents for Clean Air want energy plant issue on Nov. ballot

Election Board sued

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A company planning to build a plant that will turn waste into energy says it wants to be included in a lawsuit.

A group called Allentown Residents for Clean Air is suing the Lehigh County Elections Board.

The group wants restrictions to a proposed waste to energy plant in Allentown ... and they want the issue put on the ballot in November.

The board of Elections denied the group's petition, and the group is now trying to get a judge to overturn that decision. A hearing was scheduled for Wednesday morning, but the company that is building the plant wants to be part of the lawsuit.

The judge will have to decide if the company can be part of the suit. Another hearing is scheduled for Friday.
