Hazmat crews investigate at Lincoln Tech

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - Three people were taken to local hospitals Friday after falling ill at Lincoln Technical Institute in Lehigh County, officials said.

A call came in shortly before 11 a.m. Friday for reports of several people feeling ill at the school in South Whitehall Township.

A crew on the scene said a dozen ambulances responded to the school at 5151 Tilghman Street, near the entrance to the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Northeast Extension.

Emergency officials said crews were checking out an odor of ammonia at the school.

The three sickened people were transported to local hospitals as a precaution, officials said.
