Holy Family student to dance with Moscow Ballet

Makayla will perform at Easton State Theatre

EASTON, Pa. - A first-grade student at Holy Family School in Nazareth is getting a gift of immense proportions this Sunday.

Makayla Hoole, of Easton, will be dancing as a snowflake with the Moscow Ballet during their performance of the "Great Russian Nutcracker" at Easton's State Theatre.

The Moscow Ballet brings the internationally acclaimed Russian ballet to audiences across North America, which includes some of the best dancers in the world.

Makayla, who started dancing when she was two years old, is a member of the impact competition team at Dance Design Studio in Easton and earned her spot to dance in the ballet after an audition.

The ballet touring company holds auditions at each of its stops to allow individuals between ages of six to 18 to participate.

“I thought it would be an excellent opportunity for her to be exposed to a professional ballet experience,” said mom Michele Hoole. “I think she was born dancing."

Although Makayla's danced in competitions, this is her first performance dancing with professionals.

She says she wants to execute her dance 'perfect' but her mom isn't asking for perfection.

"I want her to reach for the stars, to do whatever she wants," Hoole said, "and to know that her family, her friends and even her school are behind her in achieving any dream she wants."

The "Great Russian Nutcracker" will show at Easton's State Theatre Sunday at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
