Homicide charges against 4 suspects sent to Lehigh County court

Murder victim's daughter was in the room

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The four suspects in a fatal shooting this summer in Allentown each had their charges sent to Lehigh County Court following their preliminary hearings Thursday morning.

Isaac Navarro, Brandon Eanes, Waldemar Rivera and Sasha Vargas each face homicide, conspiracy and burglary charges in connection to the Aug. 13 shooting death of Jermaine Taylor inside his Linden Street apartment. A district judge sent all charges to county court, and the four are scheduled for formal arraignments before Judge Kelly Banach on Nov. 3.

Authorities allege that the four armed suspects forced their way into Taylor's apartment sometime before 3 a.m. the morning of the shooting. Investigators said they planned on robbing the victim of drugs and cash.

Court records indicate at least five shots were fired. Taylor was reportedly shot and killed, while his daughter was in the room.

Navarro was injured in the robbery and was the first suspect arrested. He was arraigned about 24 hours after the shooting.

Police arrested Rivera three days after the shooting, and authorities arrested Eanes and Vargas in Harrisburg about a week after the shooting.
