Homicide suspect being extradited to face charges in Lehigh County

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The suspect accused of gunning down a man outside an Allentown club is being extradited to Lehigh County.

Ulysses Rodriguez will not challenge his extradition from New York, according to the Lehigh County district attorney's office. Rodriguez is expected to return to the area within the next few days.

Officials said Rodriguez was found in Suffolk County, N.Y. on Nov. 28, months after pulling the trigger in the fatal shooting outside an Allentown gentlemen's club that took the life of 21-year-old Tyree Wimberly. Authorities said Rodriguez was taken into custody following an arrest for public drunkenness. Police discovered Rodriguez's warrant for criminal homicide while booking him on the public drunkenness charge.

Investigators had been looking for the 21-year-old Rodriguez since this past spring and even handed out his mug shot to help locate him.

Officials believed he had been hiding in New York City, but were unable to find him until just recently.

Rodriguez shot and killed Wimberly in January outside the Scoobies gentlemen's club on Hanover Avenue on the Allentown-Bethlehem border, police said.

Witnesses said Rodriguez pulled out a gun and shot Wimberly after Wimberly refused to buy marijuana from him.
