Human remains identified as missing 38-year-old woman

WILLIAMS TWP., Pa. - An autopsy determined the human remains found in a Williams Township home last Thursday night were that of a woman who'd been missing for three years.

With the assistance of Pennsylvania State Police, finger prints were obtained from the body and the coroner says Jamie Metzger, last seen in April 2014, was the victim.

She was 38 at the time she went missing. The cause and manner of the death are pending.

Forensic teams and police were found at the home on Spring Water Court late last Thursday, investigating a decomposing body found in a container in the basement.

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said in a previous interview he and his team believed there was a strong likelihood the incident was a homicide.

The investigation is ongoing.
