Incumbents hold the day in Allentown City Council race

Nine candidates vied for four seats in the crowded Allentown City Council race and incumbents held the day.

Democratic incumbents Cynthia Mota, Julio Guridy, and Daryl Hendricks will continue on to November, all coming in on top of the pack.

Former Allentown Police Sergeant Ed Zucal, also a Democrat, came in fourth, and will also go on to the general election.

Those seats are all four-year terms.

Two Democrats also ran for the two-year seat held by Councilman David McGuire who said he would not seek another term when he was appointed.

Courtney Robinson soundly defeated John Rosario for that open seat.

Robinson will now face Republican Lou Hershman in November.
