Inez Donley, area philanthropist, dies

A longtime Lehigh Valley philanthropist and community leader has died.

Family members say Inez Donley passed away Sunday after battling Alzheimer's disease.

She was 97-years-old.

Donley served for decades on the board of KidsPeace and as president of the Allentown Library Board.

She also volunteered for a number of local charities.

She's survived by her husband of 66 years, former CEO and chairman of Air Products, Ed Donley.

The Donleys were major contributors to KidsPeace, donating more than $1.47 million to the organization.

A public memorial service will be held in Donley's honor on March 2, but the location has not yet been determined.
