Jack-knifed tractor trailer snarls traffic on I-78 westbound

Traffic slowly began moving around 9 p.m.

SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A jack-knifed trailer caused major delays on I-78 westbound Wednesday night even shutting down all lanes for more than an hour.

According to authorities, the crash occurred sometime around 7:30 p.m. between the PA 412 - Hellertown/Bethlehem exit and the PA 145 North/South 4th St. exit.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, it appears only the 18-wheeler was involved.

It's not clear what caused the crash. No injuries have been reported.

The roadway was completely closed for some time but traffic began moving again around 9 p.m.
